CD Duplication
CD Duplication services offered by Abet Disc are perfect for you if you already have a master disc with audio or data files on it, and you need them copied onto multiple blank CDs.
With songs and music, one of the most common master copy formats is CD-R (Compact Disc – Recordable), which is an optical medium that allows files to be written on a disc only once, but retains the capability to be read multiple times.
One important thing to remember is that when you send in your master disc, it will be copied exactly as-is, so be sure that no changes need to be made to your data. Place all your data and songs / music in the desired order, and we will make as many copies of it as you wish!
Whether you are looking for music, audio, or data CD Duplication, choosing a professional company to handle this process for you carries many advantages!
For example, professional equipment used for CD Duplication allows Abet Disc to quickly produce high-quality copies of your CDs at very competitive rates. This process would would take you weeks to do on your home computer, so there is a huge time advantage to having a professional company do it for you.
The great thing about CD Duplication is that it can be used to make a smaller quantity (hundreds) of copies of your original CD. This is a good alternative to CD Replication services, which are typically used to replicate much bigger quantities (thousands) of CDs.
When you use a professional company to take care of your CD Duplication needs, you get a much higher quality end-product, too!
This is because all of the blank CDs that Abet Disc uses in this process are better than the ones that you could normally get at the store. In addition, all the audio and data duplication equipment used to copy your files is designed specifically for the purpose of accurate, high-quality duplication.
This is especially important for musicians, who like their duplicated CDs to come out with a much better sound quality then if they were to manually undertake this process on a home computer. Abet Disc maintains the highest quality standards in the industry, therefore giving you assurance that your duplicated audio CDs will do a great job at representing your musical talents!
Another great feature offered by Abet Disc is the “thermal on-disc printing” for your CD’s graphics.
Unlike other companies that use ink-jet printing to duplicate your artwork, we utilize a two-step process, which uses heat and pressure, to transfer wax-based ink onto a CD. This results in the highest-quality, deep color visual presentation of your graphics. In addition, thermal on-disc printing is permanent – unlike some labels that peel off over time.
Along with CD Duplication, we provide high quality “offset printing” on your CD covers, inserts, booklets, sleeves, jackets, wallets, and DigiPaks.
This is different from laser-color copiers that are used by some competitors, because it produces much clearer, sharper-looking graphics that cannot be otherwise achieved with a regular laser copier.
This unique printing technique transfers your original image onto a flat rubber surface, which then uses ink from various-color rollers to print amazing quality graphics onto DigiPaks, CD sleeves, jackets, and more!
As a nice bonus, Abet Disc includes a free barcode on all CD Duplication orders, and a free master disc mailing service. This is a rare find in a company that offers CD Duplication!
Abet Disc has assisted clients throughout USA, Mexico, Canada and Europe with their CD Duplication needs by offering the highest-quality, 100% guaranteed fulfillment services at the best prices! We have worked with professional musicians, film makers, and various artists who have relied on our company to deliver the best end-product copies of their CDs.

A CD Duplication company with advanced technologies and expertise can provide you with error free CDs with quick turnaround. We recommend duplicate at 50 percent of drives’ maximum speed capacity for optimal audio quality and error free data. CD-R the recording media is very important to CD Duplication success. We recommend using only A-grade media. Commercial custom duplication systems are able to use 300 recorders at the same time, therefore, cutting down time spent in the burning process.
On-disc printing, Thermal retransfer printing is pigmented ink technology with UV protection. This process helps to ensure the vibrant colors on your CDs last throughout the life of the disc. Your disc at this point should be able to pass any sunshine or dashboard test. Smeared, smudged, or scratched are a thing of the pass with Thermal printing. Available in high-resolution full-color for photo-realistic images, black, monochrome for grey-scale images, or just text, Thermal retransfer is durable. Printed directly to the surface of the disc, the permanent solution helps to prevent wear & tear. Essential for retail, Thermal on-disc printing enables discs to be used for commercial distribution because it can withstand the rigors of day-to-day consumer handling.
When placing an order for CD duplication you must provide a copy of your master disc. This should be carefully burned copy of your final, edited, and mastered audio recording or software data disc. Since this master disc will be used as a blueprint for all your duplication, it is the last piece of the puzzle. There are a few other things to take into account when preparing your master disc for duplication.
The master disc media is of the extremely importance for duplication, always purchase the highest quality Red Book approved CD-R media. Find a suitable proper brand that will produce quality master disc each and every time for duplication, we recommend Taiyo Yuden. Most suitable burning mode for audio and data is Disk-At-Once mode. When you burn your disc in the Track-At-Once mode, a gap of 2 seconds is added in between each song. These gaps could be read by the duplicators as errors or glitches in the audio data, and may cause problems during the duplication process. The optimal burn speed for your master disc depends on your burner’s drive speed. The optimal burn speed setting for your master discs will be 50 percent of the drive’s maximum capacity.
After you’re done burning the master disc, test it on your home stereo and in your car. Checking the quality and to ensure an error free master is of the utmost import. Make sure to check ALL the songs and its transition from one song to another. Remember your master is the foundation of the final products. It is imperative the master is clear from any scratches.

How to set up a Donut for Silver on-disc printing
When creating on-disc artwork with silver text or background, you must include a donut template file along with the regular CMYK or Grayscale file. The donut template file is used to show where the silver of the disc will be showing. Use 100% K to indicate white base on-disc. White will indicate silver.

How to set up bleed
Bleed must extend to Bleed line, further than the Cut line. Using our templates can help visualize this. Please keep all text and anything you do not want cut inside the Safety line.
When sending an .eps or .pdf, make sure you include crop marks so we can cut the job correctly.

Does Abet Disc accept borders on jobs?
Yes, but if the border is too close to the cutline, it may be cut off-center slightly.

We cut through many sheets at a time, so watch your borders to avoid an unwanted mistake.
What color mode should my files be?
If you send us an RGB file, there is a chance that a color shift may occur and you may not be satisfied with your job.
You should always start and finish your designs in CMYK color mode.
What resolution should my files be?
Low resolution files may be printed as is or will be placed on hold until we receive new files, slowing your turn-around.

We only accept 300 dpi files and no less.
What are hue and saturation?

How can I set up a file for silver ink?
Silver ink files must be sent in a vector format. You must use a vector program, like Illustrator or Indesign, to call out the object you want in silver ink.
To indicate the silver ink, you must set the object color to Pantone® 877 C. Any other color will not be accepted as silver. Also, labeling the layer as “silver mask” or “silver” will not qualify your file.
Remember, silver is a spot color and transparencies like drop shadows should be avoided.
How do I set up an Metallics Unlimited (MU) file?
With our Metallics Unlimited (MU) system, you can make any CMYK color or full color image into a metallic color. MU jobs must be created in Photoshop. In addition to your full color artwork, you must add a chanel to your final file.
After creating your full color design in a photoshop layer, select what you would like to be metallic with the magic wand or selection tool.Make sure when making your selection, to only select the area that you need metallic. The MU system will not work on gradients so do not include them in your selection. After the selection is made, go to the channels palet, then the channels menu, and select “New Spot Channel…”Make sure the name of your spot channel is “mu channel”. Under “Ink Characteristics”, color is set to, C 0 M 0 Y 0 K 100. Solidity is set to 100%.The black parts indicate what will be metallic and the white parts will print as normal CMYK ink.
Remember, the color or area you indicated in the chanels must match the same area you want metallic in your layers.Save your file as a “Photoshop DCS 2.0″ file. The extension for this file will be .EPS. Your file is now ready to send to Abet Disc. Remember, MU works better with lighter colors and we cannot guarantee any color matching.

How do I get a grayscale image in a CMYK document?

Rich black is an ink mixture of solid black, 100% K, with additional CMY ink values. This results in a darker tone than black ink alone. If you print black alone as 100% K, the resulting black may not be as dark as you might like.

C 60 M 40 Y 40 K 100
This will give you a deep, dark, rich black.

Silkscreen printing:
Silkscreening is most appropriate for up to 3-color printing – especially if the colors are PMS colors, and for solid ink coverage. With silkscreening, ink is applied to a screen and forced through the holes in a stencil to create an image on the surface of the disc. Silkscreen printing can include up to 5 single colors, for 4-color process (CMYK) we recommend Offset printing over Silkscreening.
Offset Printing:
Offset printing provides higher quality image at175 lines per inch (vs. 85-135 lines per inch for silkscreen). Offset printing applies 4 layers of ink CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black). The more lines per inch, the smoother and clearer the printing looks. Offset printing is ideal for intricate full-color designs, skin tones, and crisp text. It is the only choice for photo quality printing.

Get Your Voice Heard Through CD Duplication
Whether you’re a musician in search of a recording label, a motivational speaker in search of an audience, or a company in search of customers, using CDs or DVDs is an extremely effective means of communicating your message. Marketing and advertising professionals understand the power of audio and video to leave a lasting impression, and frequently insert CDs or DVDs into mass mailings, magazine polybags, and press kits. They know something that those who are just making a name for themselves aren’t aware of: CD duplication and DVD duplication isn’t as expensive as it might seem.
Whether you’re putting together your own press mailing, developing a demo CD to send to movers and shakers, wish to sell video of your performance, or want to showcase your products and services, you can add an extra touch of professionalism by working with a company that specializes in CD and DVD duplication. When it comes to cost, it works like other forms of printing: the higher the quantity, the lower the per-piece price.
For example, if you want to produce a CD in a printed cardboard sleeve, you could get 1,000 made for about a dollar a piece. Up the quantity to 10,000, and the price drops to around 56 cents a piece. This price typically includes replicated discs with full-color offset or silkscreen printing, a printed cardboard sleeve, insertion, and shrinkwrap.
Bulk quantities of CDs and DVDs are even less expensive. One thousand CDs run only about 45 cents each, while DVDs are priced as low as $650 per thousand, or 65 cents per DVD. As for packaging, a printed paper sleeve adds only about seven cents per CD or DVD, while a jewel case is about 20 cents per case.
DVD box packaging is also an option at around $1.20 per DVD for 1,000, and about 67 cents per piece for 10,000. This kind of replication and packaging typically includes printing, a full-color case wrap, assembly, and overwrap. A top spine label generally costs a few cents more.
If you’re planning to do a mailing, you can use a CD duplication service that will duplicate your CD, then insert it into a cardboard mailer and shrink-wrap it. Pricing for the replicated discs and mailers runs about $1.60 each for 1,000, or about 50 cents each for 10,000.
If you want to go the extra step and take advantage of cutting-edge technology, the best DVD and CD duplication services have products like FlexDVD, which is a DVD that can bend without snapping or cracking. This is perfect for cover mounting and mass mailings. Another new and intriguing technology is called “Rub ‘n Smell,” whereby a scent is embedded into a varnish that covers the printed side of the disc and is activated when the recipient rubs the disc’s label. Now, that’s the sweet smell of success!
The bottom line, though, is that whether you’re marketing yourself or your business, you can take advantage of the same techniques that huge marketing firms use – without breaking the bank.
How To Choose A CD Duplication Company
Whether you need a few hundred CDs or DVDs or a few thousand, it’s important to choose the right company to help you with this process. A CD Duplication company has all the necessary equipment to produce high quality CDs or DVDs with professional artwork to make your discs really shine.
First, understand the difference between CD duplication. The two processes provide similar results, but differ in the quantity of CDs or DVDs you can copy and the methods used. For instance, if you need a few hundred DVDs, then DVD duplication will suffice. Duplication is the process in which the data is burned onto a recordable disc’s surface. Replication, however, uses a glass master copy to stamp data onto the CDs or DVDs. Quantities for CD or DVD duplication are usually between five hundred and a thousand, while replication is used for quantities of more than a thousand. You can even make a million copies using CD duplication!
If you only need a hundred or so CDs or DVDs, consider purchasing your own duplicator. Duplicators can range in price anywhere from a few hundred to two thousand dollars depending on the features, quality, and brand. This can help if you own a company or franchise and need to make copies for employees. Churches and non-profit organizations also find these to be handy for copying low-quantity items.
Choose a Company that Meets Your Needs
When choosing a CD duplication company, be sure the company offers all the services you’ll need from start to finish at a reasonable price. Some companies will do CD mastering, replication, and design for you. There are brokers that merely work as a middle man between you and the CD duplication company. Brokers can be helpful if you’re just starting out and have a really big project to complete. There are also manufacturers that outsource the replication work to other smaller companies.
Probably the best solution if you want very professional service is to choose a company that specializes in CD mastering, CD design, and CD duplication. A specialist can help you determine the best route for duplicating your CDs or DVDs and how to choose the proper design for your CDs and packaging. Some companies will even create artwork for you. This is a big plus because you won’t have to hire a graphic artist separately. You can complete the whole process professionally using a single company.
Locating a Vendor
There are several ways to find CD duplication specialists. You can contact those in your own city to compare their offerings and pricing. If you live in a small town, you might have to travel a good distance to the next largest city to find a CD duplication company. Or, you can benefit now from online services and never have to leave the office. Working with an online vendor can save you time and money. You can also check out what they offer and their pricing easily by surfing their website.
If you have the financial means, be sure to opt for higher quantities to get great discounts per CD. This will save you money in the long run and allow you to make higher profits when selling your CDs or DVDs.
If you’re in the music industry, motivational speaking, or need cd duplication for other purposes, use the tips above to carefully choose a CD duplication company that’s right for you!
